Michael Tomaschek - Conductor
Michael Tomaschek has played a major role in the leadership of the entire Operetta and Musical Repertoire of the Vienna Volksoper.
Numerous (at last count over 60) Concert Tours with the Johann Strauß Capelle, an Orchestra dedicated primarily to the music of the Strauß Dynasty, have brought Michael Tomaschek to almost all of the continents of the world (North and South America, Near and Far East, numerous countries of Europe).
In recent years Michael Tomaschek has been a popular conductor of the New Year´s Concert in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Macao.
Michael Tomaschek made guest appearances in the summer 2005 with new productions of “The Bat” and “The Merry Widow” at the Teatro Verdi in Triest.
The highlight of the Chinese Austrian Cultural Exchange was a Gala Concert with Wang Ying an the Volksoper Orchestra and Chorus under the leadership of Michael Tomaschek on November 28, 2007.
In 2006 the title of "Professor" was bestowed upon Michael Tomaschek by the President of the Federal Republic of Austria, Heinz Fischer
